I've been throwing my production manager energies into local projects (such as our woods, recently bought by the community) since March - can't claim credit for building these epic 'seats', but I am persistently calling the newly-cleared space 'the amphitheatre'. Used to be the tennis courts for the ruined castle. Just waiting for Barrowland Ballet or SDT to come and make something beautiful and live there! (And designers to tackle those tricksy upstage sightline issues.) I wish.
First theatre experience - was a primary school panto: Cinderella - I was about 9. I did the lighting. Sadly, it only involved switching on (or off!) fluorescent tubes - but they were on separate channels at least! The 'stage crew' wore flat caps, cos it was the north and the '80s.
Last thing I saw was the Secret Garden, in March, designed by Karen Tennent, directed by Ros Sydney. They finished their tour days before lock down I think.
